Rosewood Operation Protocol
(Presented by Rosewood CEO Tammy Hammond)

Dear Rosewood Team,

As we continue to move through the ever-changing pandemic environment, I feel it is important to update all of you to the steps Rosewood is taking to continue to manage the safety of clients and employees.

I also want to share with you some positive statistics released this week by the Center for Disease Control CDC, to help all of us keep proper perspective as we work together to combat COVID-19. The CDC announced that the recovery rate in those age 0-19 is 99.997 percent, in those 20-49, the recovery rate is 99.98 percent, from 50-69 the recovery rate is 99.5 percent, and in those 70 and older, the recovery rate is 94.6 percent.

I believe these numbers give all of us hope in the midst of what seems like the never ending negative reports.

With those facts in mind, and in response to the reported increase of COVID-19 positive tests in Barton County, we will make the following changes effective tomorrow, September 25th. We feel these changes will improve safety at this time. When we feel it is possible, we will return to normal schedules.

(Please scroll down to read Rosewood's protocols being implemented on Sept. 25th.)

Thank you,

Executive Director

Rosewood’s “Limited” Schedule Protocol

During this time, Clients will not attend multiple Day locations during the week. Each Day location will be limited to residents who reside in the same home. This will minimize exposure to possible positive tests.

FOLLOWING ARE QUARANTINE MEASURES FOR CONFIRMED COVID-19

If a resident tests COVID-19 positive, the entire house will immediately quarantine. Quarantines last for as long as the upper limit of the virus' incubation (the time between being exposed and showing symptoms), which the CDC indicates to be 14 days. Isolation lasts for as long as the virus is contagious, which means they are free of symptoms and test negative for the virus.

Staffing Protocol:

Day services will staff the quarantined homes during normal working hours Monday through Friday. Residential staff will be scheduled in the quarantine home as normal. Every attempt will be made to have the same employees staff the same homes.

Quarantine Practice:

• Stay away from other people in the home as much as possible, staying in separate rooms and using a separate bathroom if available.

• Limit contact with pets, as there is a small chance humans can pass the disease to dogs or other pets.

• No visitors unless the person needs to be in the home.

• Wear a face mask while around other people, such as during a drive to the doctor's office.

When you cough/sneeze:

• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue; immediately throw tissues in garbage; wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if that's not available, clean with hand sanitizer that has at least 60% alcohol.

• Avoid sharing household items, including drinking cups, eating utensils, towels or even bedding. Wash these items thoroughly after using.

• Clean high-touch surfaces daily using a household cleaner or wipe. These include: "counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets and bedside tables," the CDC says.

• Clean any surfaces that may be contaminated with blood, stool or any bodily fluids.

• Shared spaces in the home should have good airflow — use an air conditioner or open windows.

• Continue monitoring symptoms. If they worsen, such as if the person begins to have difficulty breathing, notify Rosewood On-Call or the health care provider immediately.
